Dao is most recognized for his Chopin performances. During his time in music school in Montréal, Chopin remained a core part of his program. While Chopin’s works are widely performed, Dao aimed to bring a fresh and expressive voice to his album through distinct interpretations.
As a Montréal-based piano teacher, Dao often uses Chopin to illustrate key musical and technical concepts in his piano lessons. This repertoire is deeply personal and nostalgic, having been studied intensively during his formative years.
